With EXOPERM™ MONO SA 250, Partel brings an advanced self-adhesive breathable membrane, based on proven Monolithic Technology, designed for external and internal applications within the low-energy building sector.
The increasing use of offsite construction methods demonstrates the commitment of the low-energy construction sector to the adoption of new technologies.
Whether we are focusing on residential developments, commercial constructions, or public buildings, to help ensure high-quality durable structures, protecting the building fabric and timber from moisture is fundamental.
Superior Weather tightness and Protection for Modern Methods of Construction
The newly developed EXOPERM MONO SA 250 responds to the modern construction challenges and further complements Partel’s range of breathable membranes. It combines all the advantages of one of our most reliable exterior membranes – EXOPERM MONO 150, with complimentary benefits that assist in keeping your project on schedule and enhancing the energy performance of the building for a long operational lifetime.
This high-performance weather membrane integrates two proven technologies – Self-Adhesive Technology and Monolithic Technology – resulting in an innovative completely adherent, vapour permeable, and extremely durable membrane for increased protection of assembly during the construction process and long after.
These benefits enable a faster, easier, and safe membrane application for both on-site and factory installation methods.
Integrated Self-Adhesive and Monolithic Technologies
EXOPERM MONO SA 250 is characterized by a specific composition with 6 functional layers of protection to help avoid structural damage of the building: elastic monolithic TPE film between 2 non-woven PP layers; reinforcing mesh for optimum strength; strong acrylic adhesive for a robust connection with various solid substrates; clear split release liner for quick installation.
The fully self-adhesive surface of the membrane with the highest quality acrylic adhesive already applied during the production process, solvent-free and low VOC, has a clear advantage when it comes to air quality and a more sustainable built environment.
The integrated adhesive ensures membrane performance, without impacting its breathability function, facilitating primerless, continuous air and windtight connections that withstand damp conditions, without requiring fixings.
EXOPERM MONO SA 250 self-adhered offers superior performance to the traditional microporous permeable existing wall underlays. Monolithic TPE technology offers advanced moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) through diffusion, creating a completely windtight, waterproof membrane that actively expels any water/humidity, for guaranteed longevity of construction.
This is how Hugh Whiriskey, Technical Director of Partel, involved in research and development describes its advantages “The design of EXOPERM MONO SA 250 eliminates the risk of water vapour build-up, as there is no space between the membrane and solid substrate. The combination of high-performance acrylic adhesive and Monolithic Technology make EXOPERM MONO SA 250 airtight and weathertight, resulting in complete management of water vapour and improved building’s energy performance.”
Complete Water Resistant, Vapor Permeable Air Barrier System
With a low Sd value of 0.26 m, Class W1 resistance to water penetration, and excellent resistance to ageing, the membrane maintains the building fabric elements and envelope’s integrity, maximising energy efficiency in both residential and commercial projects.
Ideal for roof, wall, ceiling, and floor applications, especially in large projects, it can be installed during the construction phase, making it a preferred choice for contractors, builders, and installers. Its surface remains non-slip even in wet weather.
The reinforced self-adherent membrane seals easily and securely on various rigid substrates, including timber structures, CLT elements, OBS, steel, or concrete, masonry-type substrates, and can be exposed to UV for up to 4 months.
The unique bonding system greatly improves the overall installation process meeting the latest energy efficiency requirements in high-performance buildings.
Combining EXOPERM MONO SA 250 and Partel’s vapour permeable WRB/air barrier membranes will create an airtight and watertight building enclosure that offers high drying capacity for the complete assembly—mitigating moisture damage and saving energy for the life of the building.
The new Partel membrane was introduced in Ireland and is now accessible in the UK, US, and mainland Europe. For further information, view the Product Page to learn more about EXOPERM MONO SA 250 and the EXOPERM MONO product line.
